This project covered <strong>saltpans<\/strong> in <strong>Morocco, Portugal, France, Tunisia<\/strong> and Spain and promoted the restoration and value enhancement of the coastal wetlands in the <strong>Mediterranean<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-fcfbd76 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"fcfbd76\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p on this project and with the collaboration of <strong>C\u00e1diz University<\/strong>, we were able to  <strong>increase the land suitable for the <a href=\"\/?p=1786\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nesting of species of shorebirds<\/a><\/strong> that breeds on <strong>La Esperanza Saltpan<\/strong>, located in the Natural Park of C\u00e1diz Bay in the municipality of Puerto Real,  <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #1c1e21;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri Light, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">with the hope of promoting their potential as a point of touristic interest. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 documentary \u2018<strong>Saltpan Initiative<\/strong>,<\/span><span style=\"color: #1c1e21;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri Light, serif;\"> <strong>saltpans and estuaries: Wetlands that connect lives<\/strong>\u2019 talking about the importance of coastal wetlands and saltpans for migratory birds<\/span><\/span> <span style=\"color: #1c1e21;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri Light, serif;\">and the role of mankind in their sustainable management and conservation.<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #1c1e21;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri Light, serif;\">We created <\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #1c1e21;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri Light, serif;\"><strong>publicity material<\/strong> (posters, stickers, t-shirts) to highlight the importance of <strong>maintaining human activity on the saltpans and estuaries<\/strong> located on the <strong>Eastern Atlantic migratory path for both birds and mankind<\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<div target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>educational and technical conferences<\/strong><\/a> to highlight the importance of saltpans and estuaries as social ecosystems that connect lives, create an added value and improve our future. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri Light, serif;\">A full day was dedicated to the presentations and another day was dedicated to a field trip where participants visited the <strong>El Ca\u00f1o Tidal Mill, home of the restaurant Aponiente (Three Michel\u00edn Starred restaurant), run by the renowned The Chef of the Sea, \u00c1ngel Leon<\/strong>, as an example of the sustainable use of ingredients and materials from the salt marshes in avant-garde cuisine. Afterwards, the visit continued to San Jos\u00e9 Saltpan, a new wetland which conform an important habitat restored by Salarte, and later we moved to <strong>La Esperanza Saltpan<\/strong>,  <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #1c1e21;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri Light, serif;\"> to visit the works directed at improving natural habitat.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div
